Musical Monday #5

He:
Oh dear one, I’ll ask you something
If you say no, I’ll part with my life

I’ll spread flowers for you to walk
I’ll adorn your skin with gold

There’s a wish in my heart
All I ask of you is to grant it!

She:
There’s no good heart better than yours
There’s not words enough to thank you

You are the mother and I’m the child
There’s no parting in this relationship

He:
Won’t a child come running towards the mother?
Why would you be so distant and cause me distress?
I am looking forward to cherish you
And why would you leave me all alone?

She:
The child has grown up into a damsel
The age to cherish as a kid, has flown by
It’s time for you, the mother to bless
And let the girl live out her heart in bliss

He:
I’ll pluck the moon to be a flower for you,
I’ll stitch the rainbow to be a dress for you,
I’ll do anything for you; what will you do for me?

She:
This one birth is not enough,
Even seven more won’t be enough,
I’ll pray every single day without fail,
For the God’s grace upon you!

He:
Don’t you know what I yearn for?
Won’t you still understand my heart?
Oh dear God, won’t this girl ever read through me?

What is the title you would choose for this song?

This again is a song translation for you to cherish the try of my translation or criticize and add more beauty to the verses. In case, you got Tamil songs on your playlist, you might have already guessed the song. If you are so near and need some hints, feel free to ask what clue you want.

I love this song for the pep beats and all the fun that happens in the visuals of this song.. (Which are in no way related to the verse) And the lyrics.. Oh dear, how could I ever talk about the legendary lyricist.. The words in its original form is so cute and mesmerising.. No replica could match the beauty of the original ever..

Edit: The original version with video available here!

And here comes the answer to last week’s translation, which was guessed right by Preethi.. Even if you can’t make out a single word in Tamil, I would strongly recommend this song for music lovers. The tune is so soft and soothing and had me swept off the floor for years now.. I still can’t stop listening to this song just once.. 😉

Thanks for reading through till this.. 🙂
