The Divine Ride!

National highway,
With the best road,
Without a single hitch,
In between cities
Roads bordered with
Trees on both sides..

No street lights
No tiny lights
From distant homes
And highway shops..

An empty road
Hence no light
Even in mirrors..

The wind in the face
And the pull of hair..
By the air,
Scented with
Petrichor..
Yeah,
the smell of
Rain on mud..
And,
Moistened
With drizzle..

Even with
My not-so-fast bike,

I felt like
I’m the centre
Of a vast universe
That revolves
Around me
And just for me..

Just me,
My bike’s head light,
And few metres in sight..

Sounds heaven?

It’s not yet complete..
A little kiddo
In the pillion
Hugging me tight
So my back
Becomes pillow
And the breeze
Becomes lullaby..

It’s the trust..
To sleep
On a highway travel
On a bike..

Words fail me!!

THAT is divine!!

PS:
I couldn’t let the kiddo sleep for safety purpose and as for helmet, mine was drenched before I started my ride, so please do excuse that since we are safe back in home..

This is a raw and unedited version of what I scribbled down in one go after a road trip, six months ago. This one has no imaginary exaggeration or fiction in any way. Just raw emotion. When I read back, it reminds me of the beautiful trip and I couldn’t edit it to any better for now. Did you like it?
