Responsibility vs Passion and a little touch of Harry’s magic

In the last book of Harry potter series, out of the many decisions he make, the one dilemma that struck me special is the choice between the Horcrux and the Deathly Hallows.

Horcrux is the job assigned to him, as in find and destroy them i.e. His responsibility. Without any clue of what it is, where it is but with the warning of, it’s concealed as any object, could be in any place and it is very highly protected and it might cost him his life and soul. Doesn’t sound so interesting right? Hmm.. That’s his fate..

Now let’s see about Deathly Hallows.. This is Harry’s new found craze and might be called as his passion. He is already in rightful possession of one of the three objects and has been using it for years, has another object concealed in his possession, and has a very good source to find the missing third object..

Now, the dilemma of him.. To go after the seemingly impossible task of finding and destroying the Horcrux or to go after the Hallows and safeguard himself from death as well as attain unique and ultimate power.

Despite all the inclination, he chose Horcrux over Hallows or in other words, his responsibility over passion.

As the story progresses, he seems to be in possession of the Hallows, even before he could accomplish his task to completion!

Coming back to muggle-world / earth-speak, aren’t we finding ourselves in the diverse roads often? Between passion and responsibility? So can we say that, though we might go after our responsibility, we could also find oneself accomplishing passion too?

Is it possible in the world without magic? May I take a leap to responsibility and yet find myself growing wings to conquer my dreams?
