A selfie of my words

What is my tagline?
The tagline reads ‘aZhaGiya salananGal’ in Tamizh, which is to mean ‘Beautiful Disturbances’..

Why do I write?
There are millions of thoughts that crosses our mind every single day..
Few thoughts get sticky, persistent and highly compulsive, till you give some form to it..
The impulse to take a sip of coffee, on a warm spring day by the window..
The impulse to catch the drops of rain, from the window ledges..
The impulse to go for a ride on a bike against the wind, on a windy day..
The impulse to soak in the beauty of sunset in the sea..
So, is my impulse to pen down those thousands of words, that keep buzzing in my mind and make me sleepless in the nights and make me restless in the days..
In simple, for my passion..

About what do I write?
Any single common topic?
Maybe, if you can connect all the alphabets or if you could find something better..

My intent and purpose is to write, just because I feel good while I write.. At times even I get lost while trying to establish any connection between what all I write..

How do I get inspired to write that?
Sometimes it’s the flip of butterfly wings,
sometimes it’s a long pending unanswered question of the mind..
Sometimes it’s a simple everyday event, which pops out with a gleam of it’s own and brings light on everything else and shatters the age old beliefs..

How frequent do I write?
I used to write whenever I felt like writing and post soon after I write.. I had neither discipline nor pattern.. On a whim, I took it up on myself to post daily for the year 2016. And I have completed it. After a long year of posting daily, I took a complete break and am back to post-when-I-wish or post-when-I-need-to-announce something important.

What do I write?
Does that ever form into any standard form? No..
The breaks in lines and into paras are there, just because I felt it better to read in that form..
Do the lines rhyme? Hurray.. I got lucky..
Does it remind you of any kind of literary form? I might be using it even without being aware of the form.. So please feel free to let me know what it reminded you of and help me name my style..

I do have a great respect for the traditional literature in both the languages of Tamil and English.. I do know only of a drop of that vast ocean of literature.. Yet I’m astound by its vastness, richness and it’s diversity..

I couldn’t imagine myself being part of that vast ocean right now.. I have just started my journey from the high ice peaked mountains of Himalaya to reach the beautiful convergent point of the two seas at the Kanyakumari..

The travel from that kurinji^ to neidhal^ is so long and hope one day, I too would become a drop of that ocean.. The journey may make me a precious pearl in the ocean, or it may simply let me evaporate into nothingness..

This in not a game field,
where I win
by scoring above any single opponent..
This is not a valley,
where I throw out my voice
to keep echoing for eternity..
If there are no mountains
to throw back my voice,
the echo never exists..

As I can’t build mountains to echo my voice, I throw them down the water to make ripples and let them reach far and beyond my imagination.. The reason for few ripples are petty pebbles, but do lookout for few diamonds and rubies to drop by..

As I had dropped many petty pebbles over the long journey of hundreds of posts, I have made a list on the left side to help you access posts of your choice of category.

^In tamizh, the mass of the earth is classified into five types, in which Kurinji refers to the Mountains and mountain related areas, whereas Neidhal refers to the Sea and Sea related areas..

    1. If you mentioned the reading in context of your posts, yes, the posts are captivating and you have earned another fan to your club.. 🙂

If the context is to general books, reading is my most favorite hobby seconded by writing.. It can also be considered as testing the water, before leaping in the ocean, irrespective of how tiny I might be.. 😉

I’m glad and honoured to have you in my list of followers.. 🙂

  3. Very impressive blog. I loved the blog title and the tag line. 🙂 Your knowledge of the Thamizh language is commendable and inspires me to read more. I’m a Thamizhan who did learn the mullai and neithal in school but somehow the meanings didn’t stick to my mind. I always wanted to read the works of Bharathi and I’m happy to find them here in your blog. I would really appreciate some suggestions of Thamizh reads 🙂
Keep up the awesome work and I’m looking forward to reading more of your work (While I read the already posted works :D).

    1. Avlothaana?!

It is derived from ‘Kaarthigai’ pengal who brought up Murugan.. They are the six stars.. Hence ‘Karthik’ also means a star.. 😉

Oh yeah! You are a star now.. 😛
