My entry for this week’s Mundane Monday Challenge hosted by Trablogger. Have you uploaded your take on ‘Bottles‘?
Here below are some edited versions which I liked.. Continue reading “Fitting into a square!”
Is it the end,
Where the path of the past
Bids adieu
As it ceased to exist?
Is it the bend,
Where the path takes
A new turn
As it enters new horizons?
Is this the beginning of
Another new month?
Is this the end as
The year comes to a close?
What was in the past?
Few promises were broken!
Few new promises were made!
And in between life did happen!
What lies ahead?
Isn’t that the billion dollar question?
Blushing blooming buds?
Fragrant fluffy flowers?
What’s out there could be
Seen, heard and felt from there…
But not from here, for
Appearances are deceptive!
So step ahead..
Even if it’s towards an end..
For the road bends and there lies
Another new beginning!
Another step,
Another path,
Another adventure,
An Exploration of experience!
Steps! They are well worn! Many people have used those steps but to go up …. or to go down? Perhaps both? Were they walking … or running…. and why? What is at the bottom? What is at the top? Were the people adventurers, or refugees? Recreational enthusiasts or environmentalists? They could have been very young….. or very old, and perhaps had horses or donkeys to accompany them? Did those that go up them find their goal, or did they return disappointed. Did those that come down them ever return to the top? So many questions must go unanswered. So many stories must go untold. Steps!

Is it the bird that is caged?
Or is it the heart of the one who caged them in?
Dog sleeping on dust
Only someone who has no regrets or one who leads a contended life could sleep this peacefully while lying on the floor surrounded by nature in its primal form. So what would it be for you and what might be the reason for this dog? But do dogs need reason to be peaceful?! 😉
Tagged to Jithin’s Mundane Monday Challenge!
This is a very common site in the southern India, where many stories unfold every single day. What is the story it speaks to you?
Which story do you hear?
The post is tagged for Jithin’s Mundane Monday Challenge: Learn Photography. Do visit his new awesome site for more mundane, yet beautiful pictures!
If you think you are misguided by the title, I am sorry. But this is indeed a selfie.. Yes, that’s my other hand and it pretty much looked like a duck face to me.. 😉
Duck face?!
The fun of making shadow puppets is ageless! So what is memory that surfaces when you think of shadow puppet? Waiting to hear your story.. 🙂
Linked to Trablogger’s Mundane Monday Challenge that thankfully runs beyond the Monday.. 😉
As the nib dances over the page,
As the ink flows through the pen,
As the emotions drip through the hand,
As the mind empties as the heart speaks out,
As the time ticks by, the paper is filled..
The heart is empty as everything was poured out..
The mind so serene, for the heart isn’t wavering..
A glow is added to the smile in the eyes..
The heart feels content, happy and what not!
Even when the ink fades, the emotion stays..
Even when the paper decays, the smile lingers..
Even when the sender is forgotten,
The message stays..
Let our words outlive the version of our memories,
In the hearts of people around you..
And let those be the sweetest of words,
For the pain of words has no cure, at all..
Every work of art has
Flawless Beauty,
Beautiful Flaws,
Mere Perfection,
Lack of Substance,
Life Lesson,
A mere scribble
And so much more..
And every such creator
Needs, not wants,
Needs a follower,
Bordering the level
of a professional stalker,
Without the creepiness,
But just with the consistency
And observation of the stalker..
To read the words,
To read the spaces,
Between the lines,
To realise the intent,
To understand the nuances,
To find out the unwritten words,
To appreciate the concealment,
Of ingeniousness inside simplicity..
To criticise,
To condemn,
To proofread,
To push when stagnating,
To pull down when going overboard,
To travel alongside,
Just to make sure,
The journey isn’t lonely..
For every journey
Is bound to get lonely at times
And also it could make sure that
The traveller feels
Abandoned,
Hopeless,
Lost and maybe
On the wrong route..
So I dedicate this 275th post,
To thank my followers,
Friends, critics and supporters
And especially my stalkers,
For every single Like,
Comment and Follower,
On and Off the WordPress,
For getting me here!
(: THANK YOU! 🙂
Does this signify an entrance?
Or is this the barring gate?
Will it open to new ventures?
Will it withheld the dreams?
Could I push it open?
Will it pull me back?
Is it colorful from the other side too?
Does this contain rainbows?
Or is it just the leftover unfulfilled dreams?
Or is it the color palette to paint new dreams?
Or is it a mere part of the door?
And am I thinking too much again? 😛
When I saw these diamond buds in the morning, I thought yes, Diamonds goes grow on plants! And these diamonds are even more precious as they couldn’t be held in palm or made into jewellery. But they help us nurture us and cherish us with the vital element of our life. The H2O. And still they look like poetry written by Nature!
As the sun rushes to kiss the horizon,
The sky blushes and turns red..
He kisses her everyday..
She blushes at every kiss..
This is the oldest, yet youngest love
And a truly forever kind of love..
I’m here on this rooftop waiting,
For my kiss, blush and love..
Is that you over the horizon?
Oh yes! And here I come, my love!!

Here’s another water sprayer,
But this isn’t to sprinkle
Tiny diamonds on golden leaves..
But to bring down the sparkle
Of fire ablaze to safety!
Though not sure whether it’s mundane, it’s tagged for MMC at trablogger.wordpress.com.
Though it might be scary / creepy for few, it is quite mundane at few places!
Waiting may be pleasant or not, depending on what the waiting is for.. But the time of waiting is absolutely ours to make it worthwhile by filling up the mobile space with some creativity. Here is what was captured when I was waiting for the bill after a happy dinner!
This long forgotten photo was dug out from archive after seeing the entry of TraBlogger in his Mundane Monday Challenge!
Few smiles are un-erased by anything. For they are not actual smiles and they will never ever fade.
The everyday life can be more beautiful when you know to see the everyday things in a different angle.. I clicked this some time ago and found this mundane beauty while browsing through my archives..
If you like this click, you would love the beautiful clicks listed here in Trablogger’s blog under the Mundane Monday Challenge.
The object in the click is a not-so-rare view and why don’t you take a guess on what is it.. (Hint: It is not a personalised item like Bags)
Waiting for your guesses.. 🙂
When was the last time you stopped to notice the simple mundane things with attention to detail?
If you are wondering so long, to remember that, now is the time to look around.. But with a little more attention to those everyday things and scenery, we take-for-granted.
Isn’t there something beautiful that grabbed your attention, more than others. Now, frame-it and hang-it out, not in the legal sense, but with a camera and a blog post.
Don’t you want it to be enjoyed and appreciated by many? Here’s a simple way! Give a pingback in your post to TraBlogger’s Mundane Monday Challenge!
He is hosting this challenge for over a year now and he is always kind to share his views / appreciation on the submissions, as well as, to compile them in his next week’s post. More than that, there are even simple and interesting guidelines offered by him to help us take better mundane shots. Do enjoy his clicks and other submissions for the challenge over here!
The reflections of a normal Jhumka gives a somewhat resemblance to the Kaleidoscope to me.. And it also makes me think of a little girl with her head slanted to the side.. Do let me know what you think of it in the comments..

This is a beady(:P) bag.. Don’t worry.. Just a normal bag with so much of beads and mirrors! This is in complete contrast to the chaos of the ropes captured by Jithin. This is just so in order.. Hope you liked it!!

What better place to have a look at people of all sorts than a railway station.. And this art displayed there perfectly portrays that vibrancy of variety. Kindly excuse for the lack of a better angle or framing. I was rushing to catch a train and the colors screamed to be captured and here it is..

A hobbit never returns the same after an adventure.
A human never returns the same after an exciting trip.
That’s what’s happening to me now..
The practice of writing everyday has changed..
Have loads of fun stories to share,
And have few wonderful clicks to flaunt,
Yet, now, doing none of it..
Because, I’m relishing the comfort of being back..
There is a joy in going away
And there’s another kind of joy in coming back..
For now, this seems to be heaven,
Lazing around,
Slowly catching up with the virtual world
Ticking off the pending lists..
And on top of the list is,
Another new post for tomorrow!
Phew..
Yeah that’s my reaction when I started rambling
And once again a phew!!
For this ramble could fill in as a post for the day..
So just not to let you totally disappointed,
Here’s another click of a leaf..
Which will also suit as ‘the last leaf’
As you get bored with my ramble
Or mesmerized by my leaf,
Lemme clear out the foggy laziness
Cluttering my hazy brain,
And come with a good post for tomorrow!!
Keep waiting
And don’t forget
To smile and gift a smile!!
This is not about the short story of O.Henry, except that I stole his title for this picture!!
And I do love that story too much. But another post for that story at another time. Now get to enjoy this tiny lonely leaf.
What story it holds or what story it would unfold is not known to me and hence there are zillion possibilities!! Now tell me, what is the story this leaf reminded you of, or what would be the story you would spin over this..
The crow here is indeed a normal one, except for one little thing.
The Powerful Crow!
Yesterday, I was sleeping in the afternoon after a good meal and I was woken up by this crow. Yeah, you read that right. It was calling or actually screaming at the top of its voice, till I went to look what happened. As soon as I appeared before it, the tone of calls changed but still it was calling out. That’s when I realised that my mother has forgotten to keep food for it in the usual place today.
On the Hunt
So I went in and brought a little leftover food for it and was waiting for what it would do then. It went and tasted it. Then it came back near the house and started calling out again. Now I bought some freshly cooked food and kept in its place. The crow clearly did not trust me and we both had a staring competition for awhile. I felt sorry, more than bothering to win the staring match. So I placed a little food where it was sitting. It took a cautious bite of the food and only then it went back to have the food from the usual place.
The Contemplating Crow!
It had it’s tummy full of food (I assumed so) as it flew off silently even without a glance or thanks 😉 at me. Of course, ignore the fact that I never said thanks to it for posing to me or extend any courtesy for not yet suing me for stealthily capturing its private moments of contemplation. It would be back tomorrow and I hope it remembers me.. 😛

I was trying to find a roof-top picture and found this one with various roofs. This one looked really mundane while I clicked and even when I saw it in colour. But in monochrome, I am not so sure. Hope you too like this click of multiple roof-tops.

This week Jithin had posted a pattern with colours behind the pattern and this made me pull out a snap of mine of the pattern with colours in it.
For those who are not aware of kolam / Rangoli. The Kolam is a very common sighting in the South Indian streets. Every house entrance is decorated with the kolam every morning and evening (in most places). The kolam is made using rice flour, hence considered to be offering food for ants and tiny insects, as well as good exercise for women in the morning. But with time, this tradition too underwent changes. The changes include interchanging the rice flour to chalk powder and preparing the kolam on the night before. Though this is creeping into many places, it is still practiced in the traditional way at many places. Kolam is always an important part of our celebrations and they are more specially made and decorated on festive time.
This picture is from my home during this season of Pongal. Pongal is our Thanksgiving day to the Sun, nature and living creatures (bullocks, cows..) involved in the process of agriculture. That is too big story to fill in a post, so I suggest that you ask up Google Lord to quench your further curiosity.. 😉

And here I am,
Looking around and knowing;
Who loves their coffee,
Who drinks for thirst of it,
Who gulps it without tasting,
Who enjoys the company better
than their coffee,
Who ignores the coffee,
Coz they were lost
In the eyes of the company..
Yet,
I enjoy my coffee
In every sip,
Inhaling the aroma
deep enough
To fill every pore of my lungs,
Tasting the flavor
long enough
To indulge every taste bud,
Relishing the twirls
not so long enough
But just enough
To know every direction
The liquid flows
With every little stir,
Holding the cup
just in the way
To let the warmth
spread through the palm
And add warmth
To the heart,
Still the mind,
Eludes and wonders
At some rare times,
Who observes
This observer?
This time, I was lucky to find a picture from my archives, that has Coke reflecting the flashlight. Though not as exquisite as Jithin’s, this is the one that struck my mind on seeing his entry.

Is this drop
From heaven or
From hell?
Is it based on
Where you start or on
Where you end…
Are you
A sign of life?
Coming from dew drops..
Are you
A sign of death?
Coming from the tears…
Are you
A sign of wound?
Coming from the pain of heart…
Are you
A sign of heal?
Coming from the Phoenix’s tears…
The Drop of Water!
Your travel
Just
Started?
On the way?
At the end?
Are you
Gonna evaporate
And disappear into thin air?
Are you
Gonna get absorbed
And lose yourself
Into a renewed seedling?
Are you
Gonna fall
On a shell,
And create
An exquisite pearl?
On a peacock,
And initiate
A mesmerizing dance?
On a stone,
And drained
In the cosmic silence?
On a photo,
To be the content
Of my verses?
Oh, dear drop…
It’s my capital error,
To think of you as tiny…
For you could also be
The proof of life
And source of life..
For we are nothing
Without you..
Physically,
Emotionally
And Creatively…
I bow before thee,
For thy omnipresence
And magnificence…
The first vision that greets me in the morning;
The last vision that lulls me to sleep at night;
Sounds like a very near and dear one;
Of course, the fan is a dear one,
In spite, of it being mundane,
It has also become a part of necessity!
The Fan

The time was flowing
Smooth and unrestrained,
Nothing could hitch the clock!
Yet it is now almost empty,
For it is being filled into the next!!
Time to turn upside down
Or to turn a new leaf
Or whatever suits you!
Yet it’s time to reset
Either for just a new day,
Or for a new month,
Or for a whole new year!!
Let us bid adieu to 2015
Along with hatred and evil..
Let the bygones be bygones!
Let the lessons alone shall prevail!!
Let the future bring in cheer and
Let the hearts be filled with content!!
Studying is boring and Mundane!
But learning a bit more is never boring!!
As seen through the eyes,
And preserved through the lens.
A moment in passing through,
A moment which will not pass through
Again, Or at our wish, Or our command
Even for all the riches of the world!
Yet here for the eternity,
Without withering wavering or fading away!!
Withered and yet unwithering!
A thing of beauty always brings a smile. Let there be beauty in this and add a drop of cheer to the Mundane Monday.
This is inspired by the bud and flower captured by Jithin for his MMC Entry.
The shadow on the shade, shade only part of the shade!!
Hope the caption hasn’t shaded the beauty of the shades!
I’ve written my letters for you
I had been ever shy to post them
I had waited for the time to be right
I had been waiting for you to ask..
And the time ticked away
And I kept re-reading my letters
At last I bound them to post,
And I got the invitation from you..
Of all the guesses I made
The only one that seems to be,
Most accurate and appropriate is,
It won’t make a good wedding gift!
The Binding
This picture is bound too! 😉
The criss cross
Is enjoyed
Every single time,
When they are
Threads on fabric..
And add beauty
To the Mundane!!
The multitude of stones
Represent the hurdles of life..
I stepped ON it,
And hence
I conquered my path
Beneath my feet..
Here’s another week with a Monday and one little post to make it less mundane by giving new angle to routine things..
We look for Windows,
To look beyond
The temporary prison
Of four walls
Within the concrete jungle
Or the prison
Of Bits and bytes
Within few inches..
Here’s a look,
At the Windows
From the freedom
Of open space and
With no boundaries,
Captured and hanged
Within the prison
Of a Photograph!
Here comes a colorful submission for the Mundane Monday by Jithin..
This is what happens to your food, when you let smiley addiction get to you.. 😉
And it also doesn’t hurt to have a colorful, yummy and healthy veggies when it’s served with a lovely smile.. 😉
It’s Monday again!! The Mundane Monday‘s are becoming bit more cheerful.. I’m here with another mundane shot..
But posting without any more words, doesn’t seem to be so appropriate for my blog..
Scroll through the post to read or skip it.. But don’t skip commenting on the click.. 😉
Square peg in a round hole
The quintessential term
For matching the unmatched..
But even a circle peg,
Can’t fit in a round hole..
As the identity holds them apart..
They could indeed co exist
And make a wonderful set..
Relish the uniqueness
Rather than trying to fit in..
PS: I’m inviting Koothan to this challenge of finding beauty in mundane things.. Just peep into the other link for further details of the challenge.. 😉
ஆதிரை ~ Aadhirai
You guys have to bear this little monologue, before you could step into the post..
This is my first submission for Jithin’s Mundane Monday Challenge..
For those of you, wondering, what is this in the picture, it’s where moulded clay are burnt to bricks..
Which is a very common sight, if you travel through certain parts of Tamilnadu..
I hope you too found the sad face..
The splatter of that paint is also a very common sight, yet what makes it interesting is the formation of the sad face..
A fragment of those thousand words spilled in colors, are captured in few words too..
Building of dreams
I know that,
The fire within
Is gonna
Scorch
Burn
Harden
Decolor
Distort
And torture me,
For days,
Till I yield to it..
The pain
Is not
Simple
To endure..
Yet,
For me
To grow and glow
I must endure pain..
I also know that,
The images
We form
As a kid
Are the hardest
To be replaced..
Hence, I accept,
All this pain,
The endurance
The perseverance
As part of me
And my younger days…
So,
One day,
I could be
In the dream house
Of another child..
Yet,
I weep for
The pain..
Of
Not yet reaching
My destiny…
— The words of the to-be-brick clay
