Answering Life

A Throwback post!

The key to a happy life is not about knowing answers to every question that arose in the world..

It’s just about knowing answers to the questions thrown at you..

It is just like another who wants to be a millionaire show, where you are awarded the contentment of a peaceful life at the end of the last question..

Hence, it never matters what all you know.. It only matters whether you know the right answers to those fifteen questions and in the right order..

It also doesn’t matter if you know answers to questions 2 – 15 but not the first one, you get disqualified then and there..

How do you know which question will come at what time?
That’s the riddle and beauty of it..

The most beautiful way to get to know the right answers: Be alive at the moment, grasp everything around you, through sight, sound, taste, touch and feel them..

It doesn’t help you whether you are a prodigy or the most ignorant person in the world..

How intriguing and interesting life is?

Lost and Found

Have you ever felt lost?

No, Not the kind, where you are stranded in a place, where they speak a different language or you don’t know how to reach a specific address kind..

But, standing amidst a group of people, who know details more than your name and who you are and in few cases much more than what you want them to, yet, feel like being lost..

Have you ever felt so even with people, whom you used to call as friends, or worse, best friends?

If you answer it as yes, I am terribly sorry for you. But the next question is just for you.

Have you ever gotten back to being best friends after a gap of being strangers??

Yes?! That is the heavenly feel I am talking about..

The falling apart is so gradual that you don’t even feel the pain of parting, but it comes down as a crash someday, when you both are sitting next to each other like old times, but nothing else is like old times.

The silences are no more comfortable, and leaves both of you wondering, what did I do wrong?
The easy conversations lack the flow and they are revolving just around common topics..
Talks about the nuances of the workings of things beyond the stars are just history..
Finishing the line happens, only to prove how opposite the thoughts are..
What we think as what the other likes, are not right anymore..
The sync which was existing in the thought levels has vanished like a vapour and even the spoken conversations doesn’t make any sense anymore..

With all such differences existing, the factor is surprisingly not visible and the differences doesn’t keep you at end of daggers either.. It is just the time and the environment playing its role, as a by-product of leading our lives to our own destinies.

As life keeps you separated in space and thoughts for a long while, the good old times, come back as the admonishing granny, keeping the toddler in control, from eating way too many sweets. The granny, throws away all the time and space and arranges for a chance meeting on an unexpected spot, at a totally unexpected place.. Yet, the need of the hour for one of them.

The unplanned meeting makes you forget the awkwardness and you both get back into sync as if there were no deviations and no gaps ever in the friendship.

And there’s a little more beauty to it, when just the meeting of the dear old friend, has lifted the spirits of both and has reminded each other of their own strength. For few people could boost your morality, just by their mere presence and even without uttering a single word!

Have you ever experienced such boost to yourself? Do let me know with your comments..

Paradise Lost

கண்ணிலான் பெற்றிழந்தான்..
I don’t remember where I heard this first time, but I’m so grateful for the one who introduced me to this line..

What’s it about this line?
Transliteration – kaNNilaan peRRizhandhaan..
Translation – A blind person, got sight and lost it back..
Conceived by – Kamban
Verse – 325 of Kamba Ramayanam

This is an epitome of agony and pain undergone by a person at times of loss..

Context:
The mighty king Dasarathan was blessed with his children after several prayers..
He was asked, of his son Rama, to be of service, to a hermit in the forests, a hazardous job for a Prince..
The mentality of the king is portrayed as that of a blind, who had enjoyed the blessings of the vision and has gone back blind..

Why the line pops into my mind and blows me off every time?
The loss could have been described in so many ways..

Why not simply say that as a person gone blind?
When one is gifted with vision at birth, it’s taken for granted..
But if one is born blind, he would have an thirst for vision..
The gift of vision can only be contemplated at it’s best, only by a blind..
He treasures the power of vision..
When the sight is taken back, he simply has to return to his former state..

When a person is born with vision and has gone blind in between, has to learn a new way of complementing his visionary power..
But for a person born blind, that’s his natural state..
He evolves and grows with the absence of vision..

So isn’t it easy to restore to someone’s natural state?
What’s the harm in it?

The person could have led his whole life without vision and even could have achieved something in his life..

It’s always easier to acquire, grow, multiple the resources we start with..
As the resource grows, the person evolves along..
But when the resources begin the downfall, there’s no going back of the evolution..

The evolution is like carvings on a stone..
When the resources are taken back, it shatters the heart into shrapnel..
You could live with a blank stone, but not with a shattered piece..
Whether the person stays still or move forward, it hurts the person..

Nothing ever could heal the hurt of the heart..
Even if someday the vision is once again restored, still the void, the pain exists..
Nothing could ever conceal it from one’s own conscience..

A few of you might have experienced this:
Desired something for so long,
thought about it day and night,
gone in search of that treasure with all your heart,
Foregoing every other pleasure for it,
Dedicated the mind, heart and soul for it,
And the success knocks on your door..

The happiness is just divine and is something to be felt and could never be put into words..

Then comes the tragedy,
Even before you could completely embrace your happiness,
The result of success is to be borrowed,
Not a giveaway, Not distorting it,
Just a borrowing,
Still you know the usage by the borrower might lead to anything…
You may or may not get it back,
You might not be the same without it again,
You are to relinquish the treasure voluntarily..

That’s the exact feel of

Liberation

This is a song written in Tamil and translated to English! This time the translation is for my verse..

Liberation

It’s neither few nor many,
Who broke the wings.
The tears that are spilling ain’t falling
Either in the prison or pillow!

The corpse hidden to thoughts
Had hidden away
The peace and sleep too

In that moment of
Lost mind and
Lost peace

The coolness of the moon
The brightness of the sun
The gentleness if the breeze
The ferocity of storm
Fused into a ball

The ball reached
Deep inside to
Reveal the truth!

That the prison is in thoughts!!
Though the wings are fine,
The thoughts are not fine,
Thus, restricting the wings,
That might soar the skies!!

Is there any worse sword
To break one into pieces?

When will this prison break?
When will this wings soar?

We are youngsters!

We are youngsters!
We never listen to the old generation..
We never bother about how the money we spent was earned..
We always talk-back and not take any advises..
We don’t take life seriously at all..
We do kill our time in Social Networks and every not-useful-for-a-penny tasks..
We do tune out from the troubles of our society..

But there’s more to us..
Hit us with a problem to us or our near and dear ones..
We would start reacting..
We will not listen to elder generation when we have to wait for initiating the required actions..
We never bother about the time and money spent for the cause we do believe in.. And not every time our causes are stupid..
We do talk back to whoever stands in our way to help those who are in real need of it..
We don’t take our lives seriously when it would mean we could save other lives..
We have been using the Social network to the maximum and we do know to use it effectively and efficiently..

There are leaders and there are followers..
And there’s the third kind of people..
We, who become our own leaders to lead the life out of disaster in the times of crisis..
We, the backbone of the volunteer groups helping out people in the fields..
We are the third kind of person..
We are youngsters!!

A tribute to every volunteer in every crisis!!

A Single drop of water

This post has been written for Prompt of the Month; a feature of Writer’s Ezine

image

When I saw this prompt, the first thing that popped in my mind is this old post of mine.

Here is the post again with few minor tweaks..

A ripple is a set of reactions to a thing..
It might be a drop in a serene still pond..
It might be the leap of frog within the pond to the shore..

Let us assume this to be a single drop of water…

What is this drop of water?
What could all be this single drop of water?

It might be the source of life for an exquisite pearl…
Or it might be the last drop of tear from a parting soul…

It might be the excess condensation of a cool glass…
It might be the sweat formed of the scorching sun…

It might be the life breath for a bee..
It might be the drowning drain for an ant…

It might be the life-giver…
It might be the life taker…

Nothing is good and as well nothing is bad..

It’s not about the drop of water… It is all about the place where it drops..

When a drop of rain falls on the feathers of the Peacock,
I witness the beautiful dance of the peacock,
When a drop of rain falls in the layers of rock,
I witness the mere silence of the rock..

Beauty lies not in the object,
But in the eyes of the beholder…

If you could find the beauty around you,
Be proud that you have a beautiful heart..

Keep spreading the joy and cheer always.. 🙂

The Soul Mates

While the world was created, it was created with just two human souls. Over generations, the soul got transferred to the newly born people. So, in the today’s world, every soul you meet is either of the two.
♥ Fragment of your soul mate.
♥ Fragment of your own soul.

When a person meets the soul mate, they complement each other and thus complete each other’s blanks or shortcomings.
Whereas, when a person meets the fragment of their own soul, they too complement each other, by nourishing the likeness and sharpening the senses they own.

Undoubtedly, the Soul mates make the best couple of married bliss.
Still the power of finding the fragment of your own should never be underestimated. For they make the world a better place to live in, by becoming your best friend.

Finding the soul mate, to get married, may or may not be possible for every person, owing to so many trivial or substantial circumstances.
But, every person could recognize and hold the fragment of their own soul in day-to-day life. The earlier you get hold of this fragment; the soul gets nourished better and leaves you as a happy person forever. Since, they are your patronus, you always feel the warmth of comfort and get rid of the dementors for good.

The classic example for all this in the magical world of Harry Potter.
